Worcester Lieutenant Firefighter Jason Menard lost his life while heroically and selflessly saving his crew during an early morning fire on November 13, 2019.
Lt. Menard and his crew were searching for a baby trapped in a burning home.
When they became trapped on the third floor, Lt Menard helped a probationary firefighter to the stairs, before going back into the blaze and rescuing another trapped firefighter by helping him out the window.
Fire conditions then overtook the third floor, and Menard couldn’t escape.
He leaves behind his wife Tina and their three children.
